Drawing on the more than 7 decades of experience of the Association for the Physically Disabled (APD), Barrier Breakers (BB) works in close collaboration with the APD to address the following issues on your behalf: Accessibility Audits, Disability Awareness & Sensitisation, Education & Training of decision-makers, Reasonable Accommodation, Staff Recruitment and Team Building exercises.
The emphasis is on practical solutions to your problems.
The goal is to empower you to facilitate people with physical disabilities (PWD’S)      within your environment in a meaningful manner.
The process is geared towards building bridges between able-bodied and disabled      South Africans of all ages.

Through the BB Ratings system people with physical disabilities will be able to see which buildings comply with their basic accessibility needs.

Apart from clearly identifiable plaques at the entrances of such buildings, a list of all these structures - as well as the shops and businesses within such a structure which support the principle that pwd’s should be able to move around with dignity – will be published on this web site.
