SERVICES
AWARENESS & SENSITISATION
EXHIBITIONS
We work in collaboration with various NGO’s as
well as community based organisations, self-help groups
and individuals in the disability sector and are in
a position to bring the following to your venue:
Information - on disability issues and the services
being provided by some welfare organisations
Arts & Crafts – demonstrations by sewing,
wire-work, bead-work, etc groups
Performing Artists – plays, singers and dancers
Fine Arts – demonstration by foot & mouth
painters
Sports – exhibition games, eg wheelchair basketball
GAMES
Our games are aimed at giving able-bodied people an
opportunity to have a disability experience (especially
mobility impairments) in a non-threatening, playful
environment. Some of the events can include elements
of visual and hearing impairments.
Participation by representatives of different departments
creates excellent team-building opportunities for the
client.
Stationery events require an indoor venue, while the
mobile events can be presented either indoors or outdoors.
Stationery: Table tennis, table soccer, darts, basketball
hoop-shooting & wheelchair transfer exercises.
Mobile: Soccer penalty kicking on crutches, wheelchair
relay races, wheelchair slalom course & wheelchair
sprint races.
MOTIVATIONAL TALKS
Count your blessings; if we can, you can! Our barrier-breaking
speakers will inspire your staff to break down their
own barriers and strive to reach greater heights. Apart
from Barrier Breakers’ Denzil David, we co-operate
with speakers like the King of Kilimanjaro Bernie Goosen
and The Victor Within Vic Vermeulen as well as several
inspirational teenagers.
