BB is a division of a highly respected social benefits
organisation with limited financial resources but extensive
knowledge about the disability sector and vast experience
in rendering health and welfare services to people with
disabilities (more than 500 000 since its inception)
– the Association for the Physically Disabled:
Greater Johannesburg (pre 1987 the Cripples’ Care
Association).
Of all the people with disabilities (pwd’s) the
APD serves, more than 90% are black and reside in previously
disadvantaged communities. APD is a registered NPO and
PBO and qualifies fully under the socio-economic section
on contributors’ scorecards.
