SERVICES

GENERAL

As all our services are tailor-made to suit the requirements of our clients, we operate on a written Quote system. (Specific Terms & Conditions apply to all our services.)

Whenever possible, we prefer working with the Disability Forum/Desk of the client as we believe that these employees can make a valuable input to whatever we do and that they should be the lasting face of disability with their colleagues.

All income generated in aid of people with disabilities.

ACCESSIBILITY AUDITS
An on-site inspection of the areas defined by the client by a two-person APD team comprising a paraplegic in a normal sized, non-motorised wheelchair and a qualified architect. We supply you with a detailed report of the accessibility problems identified, how these measure up to the National Building Regulations, as well as any recommendations on how to solve/mitigate said problems.

ACCESSIBILITY ASSESSMENTS AND RATINGS
The project entails the awarding of a Barrier Breaker Rating to owners/managers/tenants of any structure/venue which is open to members of the public.

It must be stressed that the ratings will not be linked to any existing legislation or building regulations. Participants will have to pass the most difficult test of them all – a practical accessibility test (Accessibility with Pride and Dignity test) conducted by people with physical disabilities.

Based on membership principles, participants who have qualified will pay an annual membership fee. Upon registration, members will receive a plaque for public display at every point of entry, as well as a membership certificate. Facilities with more than one entrance will obviously have to purchase additional plaques.

The membership/ratings will be renewable annually, subject to compliance with the relevant accessibility criteria.

AWARENESS & SENSITISATION

Performing Artists – plays, singers and dancers
Fine Arts – demonstration by foot & mouth painters

GAMES
Our games are aimed at giving able-bodied people an opportunity to have a disability experience (especially mobility impairments) in a non-threatening, playful environment. Some of the events can include elements of visual and hearing impairments.

Participation by representatives of different departments creates excellent team-building opportunities for the client. Stationery events require an indoor venue, while the mobile events can be presented either indoors or outdoors.
Stationery: Table tennis, table soccer, darts, basketball hoop-shooting & wheelchair transfer exercises.
