ABOUT SKYWARD

APD has been running this employment placement service for more than 10 years.

CANDIDATES:
Skyward receives CVs from people with disabilities on a regular basis and now boast a comprehensive database of skilled and unskilled candidates.

PLACEMENTS:
Over the years they have placed people in many sectors, eg:
retail,
banking,
security, and
government,

and a large variety of positions, eg:
drivers,
receptionists,
conference administrators,
security guards,
data capturers,
CAD administrators, and
administrative assistants.

Some of the positions have been permanent, and others temporary.

LEARNERSHIPS
Since 2003 they have sent many of their candidates on official learnership programmes.

WORKPLACE TRAINING & ASSESSMENTS
Skyward works closely with Barrier Breakers which offers awareness training and do ergonomic assessments of the physical workplace to define accommodations needed for workers with disabilities.

STAFF SENSITISASION
If required, Skyward can organise for Barrier Breakers to present a fun-filled sensitisation event for your staff.

SKYWARD SERVICES

Employment is the key to self-esteem and independence for people with disabilities. Employment placement is therefore one of the strategic aims of APD whose mission is to work with people with disabilities to achieve integration and independence in the community.

Skyward Employment works closely with potential employers to ascertain their employment needs and with other agencies to introduce candidates who may initially need support and training, but who will give 150% to your organisation.

Skyward offers a different kind of service based on the knowledge and understanding of disability and the motivation to find opportunities for people with disabilities to take charge of their own lives through work. It even has service agreements with specialist private sector employment agencies to increase candidates’ opportunities for jobs or learnerships.
